8th Annual Oak Cliff Costume & Bucket Drive
It's our favorite time of year at Chad West, PLLC! Halloween is upon us and with it our annual costume and bucket drive for our neighborhood kids.
A Halloween drive isn't your typical philanthropic effort. There are no tax benefits ... just the joy of giving local kids a memorable Halloween!
More than 2,500 children come to this neighborhood to trick-or-treat on Halloween night. When I moved to Oak Cliff, I noticed on Halloween that MANY children in our neighborhood trick-or-treat without costumes and carrying plastic grocery bags. The next year, our firm opted to do something about it! As a kid, Halloween was always a fun and exciting evening – thanks to my parents who had the means and the time to make it special for me. We wanted to make sure all our neighborhood kids have that same experience.
For the past seven years, we’ve collected Halloween costumes, masks and festive buckets and bags for neighborhood kids. We distribute these items right here in Oak Cliff on Halloween night to any children who need them. We love seeing the faces of neighborhood kids light up when they get to put on a costume or a mask and receive a festive bag or bucket in which to collect their candy. For our firm, this event is about supporting our local community here in Oak Cliff.
For the first time, several Oak Cliff neighbors are joining our firm to help with our Halloween efforts! Between Oct. 1 and Oct. 29, you can drop off your donations of new and gently used costumes, masks, hats and buckets/bags at the following locations:
Chad West, PLLC Red Pegasus Comics
3606 S. Tyler Street 319 N. Bishop Avenue
Event supporters this year also include Judge Sara Martinez, Raising Oak Cliff and Constable Michael Orozco.
Note: Kids especially love masks, which are easy to throw on with their street clothes.
Shop online! If you want to support the Halloween drive, you can ship items direction to our office at: 3606 S. Tyler Street, Dallas, TX 75224.
ALL costumes and buckets/bags will be distributed on Halloween night. Thanks to our friends and colleagues for helping us with our neighborhood outreach!
