For all personal injury cases, including car accident and negligence matters, we work on a contingency fee basis. This means that you pay no money up front to retain us. Instead, if we recover money for you, our fee is 33.34% of the total recovery. This percentage is standard for personal injury cases.
For civil litigation cases, we charge an hourly fee that ranges from $200 to $300 per hour, depending on the attorney. We require retainers for these cases, which will be deposited in a special savings account known as an IOLTA. The hourly fees will be deducted from the retainer, and any excess funds remaining at the end of the case will be returned to you. If your account falls below 50% of the retainer, we will ask you to replenish the retainer in full. The retainer for a simple case is $2,500, and either $5,000 or $10,000 for more complex litigation cases.
For criminal cases, we charge a flat fee rather than an hourly fee. The fee depends on the type and complexity of the offense. We ask that clients pay a retainer of at least 1/3 of the fee before we enter an appearance on your behalf. We offer payment plans for clients in criminal cases.
