At the Law Office of Chad West, we are here for you. Here are some answers to some of the questions we are asked most frequently.
DO YOU OFFER FREE CONSULTATIONS?
Yes. We offer free consultations for all clients, for up to one hour.
ARE YOU OPEN ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS?
We offer appointments to clients seven days per week. Typically, our office is open from 9 am to 1 pm on three Saturdays each month. Without an appointment, our office is closed on Sundays. Contact our office to set up an appointment!
CAN WE REACH YOU AFTER HOURS?
Yes. Our phones are answered 24 hours a day. If you need assistance outside of normal business hours, please leave a message with our after-hours receptionist at 214-509-7555. An attorney or paralegal will call you back as soon as possible.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES FOR PERSONAL INJURY CASES?
For all personal injury cases, including car accident and negligence matters, we work on a contingency fee basis. This means that you pay no money up front to retain us. Instead, if we recover money for you, our fee is 33.34% of the total recovery. This percentage is standard for personal injury cases.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES FOR CIVIL LITIGATION CASES?
For civil litigation cases, we charge an hourly fee that ranges from $200 to $300 per hour, depending on the attorney. We require retainers for these cases, which will be deposited in a special savings account known as an IOLTA. The hourly fees will be deducted from the retainer, and any excess funds remaining at the end of the case will be returned to you. If your account falls below 50% of the retainer, we will ask you to replenish the retainer in full. The retainer for a simple case is $2,500, and either $5,000 or $10,000 for more complex litigation cases.
